  1. TripAdvisor.com has been a huge help for me personally, booking hotels or attractions has become much easier (especially when I have never been to the actual destination before), the imput of other uses helps me decide what hotel will suit myself and husband best. But I have also learned, with any type of social media, that taking everything with “a grain of salt” is imperative. There will always be comments and negative feedback from customers that are hard to satisfy or those that had an isolated bad experience. I think all customers should make sure to base decisions off of the feedback of the majority when using these types of social media sites. Great post! Kim

  2. The blog looks great overall. Because of the format (the words in a long column in the center), it’s a bit harder to focus on the important aspects and keep the reader’s attention. I like the cautionary advice with the stop graphic and the bulleted points– that’s very easy to read and understand. It breaks up the wordage nicely.

  3. I recently started using Tripadvisor. I’m not sure how much I really like it since I was looking for a helicopter tour while in Las Vegas to go to the Grand Canyon. Of course both companies I was looking at has bad reviews but I felt like the reviews were swayed to the more expensive company. I ended up going with the cheaper company and we love every minute! I’m glad I read the reviews but I was MORE THAN HAPPY to give my positive review for the company we chose!
PS Love that your blog is pink!

  4. Love your blog design BTW! I like how you mention generate sharing. I think other then brand awareness that is one of the greatest features of social. Sharing creates personal and more trust worthy referrals to a company. Which has more value… A post in your feed where the company tells you how wonderful their product is, or a post in your feed where a consumer is telling the brand how great they are. The people in the second order network that see the consumer/friends post in their newsfeed are going to most likely take more value to that friends post!

  5. Great blog. I love how you talk about TripAdvisor.com. It’s very useful when planning a trip, the feedback is a great way to pick the right hotel for you! Going along with this I thought it was interesting that some airlines are also using social media to allow consumers to pick their seats based on other passengers social media profiles. Kind of interesting!
